FREE FAMILY SVG FILES FOR ALL OF YOUR CRAFT PROJECTS

This month’s theme is family if you haven’t already guessed. I’m so excited to share my FREE “And So they Built a Life they Loved” SVG cut file with you. Wait until you see the amazing designs from my creative blogging friends too.

Here you’ll find family svgs that will be perfect for those nap time crafts. If your kids are grown consider hosting a craft night with some friends.

FREE COMMERCIAL USE FONTS

When creating new designs I always make sure to use fonts that come with a commercial use license. This allows me to sell my designs if I choose to.

My favorite sites to download fonts are Creative Fabrica and FontBundles.net. They offer thousands of fonts and an awesome assortment of FREE FONTS that come with a commercial use license.

WHAT CAN I MAKE WITH A FREE SVG?

Since there are so many ways to use these FREE designs, it can get overwhelming. For this purpose I’ll break it down and give you some great ideas to get you started.

VINYL PROJECT IDEAS

Wood Signs and Door Hangers: To make a sign or door hanger you will need a wood craft blank, vinyl, transfer tape, weeding tools, paint and cutting mat. Don’t forget the most important thing: your Silhouette or Cricut machine.

Tumbler, Mug and Water Bottles: If you want to add this Family quote to your drinkware of choice you will need a drink blank. Blanks can be picked up at Target, Michaels, etc.

HEAT TRANSFER VINYL (HTV) PROJECT IDEAS

Shirts, Tote Bags and Hats: Tote bags are always a good idea to have hanging around.

To use the Family cut file on anything fabric you will need a fabric blank (i.e. shirt, tote bag, hat, etc.) that can be purchased at your local craft store, HTV (heat transfer vinyl), heat press or home iron, weeding tools, cutting mat and of course your Silhouette or Cricut.

For sublimation you will want to use the PNG file that comes with your download. Note: colors on your screen might vary from the printed version.

STICKER AND PAPER PROJECT IDEAS

Stickers: Lastly, how about making stickers! They are easier to make than you think. To make a family sticker, you will need to use the PNG file sized way down, full sheet labels, cutting mat and your machine.

IMPORTANT DOWNLOAD INFORMATION

This “And Together they Built a Life they Loved” cut file download comes with an SVG and a transparent PNG.

The SVG is on a 12×12 artboard but you can size it up or down to your liking in Silhouette Studio or Cricut Design Space. The PNG is 300 dpi which is perfect for printing if you don’t have an electronic cutting machine.

NOTE: If you have Silhouette Studio basic edition, you will need a DXF file. This file will only be provided upon request.

Your files will be in a zipped folder that you’ll need to extract. It is strongly recommended that you download your files from a laptop or desktop computer.

How Can I Use Family Cut Files

When you are downloading digital files from bloggers who are participating in a blog hop, you will need to look for the terms of use for each individual design.

Most of us give away our design for FREE but for personal use only. If you’d like to use our designs for commercial use (for profit), typically a commercial use license needs to be purchased.

I can’t speak for all of the blog hop participants so be sure to read their post in it’s entirety for specific usage instructions.

MY contribution “And So they Built a Life they Loved” design come with a personal use license for physical items.

What that means is that you CAN use my design on crafts, signs, bags, shirts, mugs, hats, decals, etc. as long as you are NOT selling the physical products. Think gifts, items for your home, things that YOU personally will use or wear.

You can NOT sell items made with my free designs and you can NOT share or sell the digital copy of the design itself. You can’t take the zip file and upload it to a file sharing site or sell it as your own.

That is the nature of digital files. Use them to create things for personal use, YES. Resell, redistribute or share the actual files (digital files – SVG, Transparent PNG, etc) NO.
