10 Low Point Weight Watchers Desserts

Low Point WW Desserts

Weight Watchers is my "go to" weight loss program. I lost a bunch of weight on it years ago when I was in my late teens and I've had huge successes with it in my adult years. I love it because you can eat your favorite foods and still stay on plan. I have to say that I've been able to find plenty of main entrees to eat but always seem to struggle finding low point Weight Watchers desserts. I decided to do some research and have rounded up 10 low point Weight Watchers Desserts that I can't wait to try! {If you're pinning from this post, please use the collage photo. Cake Batter Blondies

Cake Batter Blondies

I had seen the recipe for cake batter blondies all over the web and thought that since  I love blondies and I love cake, I knew I would love cake batter blondies. They were so easy to make and they were a huge hit at home. My girls go bonkers when I say I’m making them. These blondies never last more than a few hours in our house. Sad but true. We love a good, delicious dessert. … [Read more...]

Sugar Cookie Cake

Sugar Cookie Tube Cake

So, I brought this recipe back from the ashes. I haven't made it for years and I've only made it three times. I experimented with it for the first time on December 9, 2006. The last time I baked it was in 2007 with my cousin, Alisa, while still living in Florida and I noted this on the actual recipe in my book.  What fun we had that night.  The Sugar Cookie Cake recipe is very unique in that it replaces most of the flour normally added with crushed sugar cookie crumbs. I bought simple store-brand sugar cookies and whirled them through my food processor to finely crush them. Back when Alisa and I baked this cake, I put the cookies in a zip lock bag and beat them with a rolling pin... it was loud, but it worked! This cake is dense and moist and holds its shape well.  The outside has a … [Read more...]

Best Ever Chocolate Chip Cookies

Best Ever Chocolate Chip Cookies

I think I make a pretty good chocolate chip cookie. My family loves them. I love them but I’d be lying if I didn’t say that seeing some recipes floating around on the web claiming they were the BEST chocolate chip cookie didn’t have me doubting my cookies. So, over the last few months I’ve been experimenting a little bit with my chocolate chip cookie recipe. I’ve tried using sea salt, cake flour, light brown sugar, dark brown sugar, corn starch, butter and I’ve come to the conclusion that the cookies I’ve been making for years are the best ever chocolate chip cookies in my mind anyway. Now these particular cookies are staged on red paper and doilies because Valentine’s Day is almost here and the chips are Valentine chips (red and dark chocolate chips) but they are … [Read more...]

Quick and Easy Desserts with COOL WHIP Whipped Topping

COOL WHIP Whipped Topping is pretty much a staple in my house. We love using it for anything from dipping apples in it to smearing it on top of pudding. My 5 year old even prefers COOL WHIP to syrup on her waffles and pancakes.  Mr. GC uses it on his ice cream and jello. I love using it in my favorite dessert (pictured at left) that I bring to parties and pot luck’s to share. It really is a great addition to any dessert and it is just the right thing to make your everyday treats a little more special. As a mom of 3 busy children, ages 8 to 1, I don’t have time to create elaborate desserts for them. Being the crafty girl that I am though, I don’t like to just serve the ordinary if I can help it. I like to do a little something “extra”. And when I take the time to do just that, my … [Read more...]

Things to do with Pumpkins (decorating with and eating)

Fall is my absolute favorite time of year. I love the colors and I especially love the cooler weather. We got teased here in NY with some cool weather early in September and then BAM it went back to hot and muggy – 2 of my least favorite things. Even today, it’s about 72 degrees outside and it’s soooo sticky.  Gross. {Update: it has taken me ALL day to do this blog post and now it has finally cooled off……..but now it’s raining!}Anyhow, I thought my life would have gotten simpler with my 2 oldest going back to school but I just feel like I don’t have time to do anything. I’ve managed to sort of get into a rhythm with laundry but ummm, that’s about it. I was just telling my husband the other day that I feel like I have so much that I NEED to do that I don’t have any time … [Read more...]

Old-World Linzer Cookies

When someone speaks of Austria the classic tunes from The Sound of Music soon-after flood my mind. They deftly solicit my imagination to dance along in lush green landscapes and mansions while singing grandly. If I linger, they'll woo me to tear down the curtains and sew play-clothes for my daughter.  On a quiet day tales of Austria call me to my oven.  Born in a land well-known for its delicious desserts and pastries the Linzertorte among them, Austrian recipes will never disappoint.   Linzer Cookies are a re-mix of the original Austrian Linzertorte, a re-invention of the wheel if you will but bite-sized.  Historians attest the Linzer recipes hail from the city of Linz, Austria and date them in the 1700's.  The cookie, much like the torte involves a dough filled with ground … [Read more...]
