S’mores Popcorn

If you’re a a fan of popcorn and love to eat it in a variety of ways, check out this s’mores popcorn recipe that’s the perfect combination of salty and sweet.

S'mores Popcorn

We love having family movie nights at our house. I’m not sure if my kids love it because we are all spending time together or because they know they will be getting their hands on some delicious popcorn. Either way, no family movie night is complete without popcorn. We actually  have a little popcorn machine but lets face it – if I can make my life easier I’m going to head right for the microwave popcorn instead. Zero clean up and it’s super fast and really, that seals the deal for me.

I was shopping in Walmart the other day and discovered that Pop Secret has quite the selection of popcorn flavors. Our favorite is Pop Secret Movie Theater Butter so I grabbed a box of that. I also grabbed the Pop Secret Homestyle popcorn because I knew I wanted to make some s’mores popcorn and figured this would be a good one to use. I was right. It was just the right amount of salt and was the perfect choice for my recipe. I even grabbed a box of the Pop Secret Sweet ‘n Crunchy Caramel which I CAN NOT wait to try!

To make s’mores popcorn you’ll need a few ingredients

  • 2 Bags (popped) of Pop Secret Homestyle Popcorn
  • 2 Cups of Golden Grahams Cereal
  • 1-2 Cups of mini marshmallows
  • 1 Cup of mini chocolate chips
  • Melting Chocolates (not shown)

Combine all ingredients (except the melting chocolate) into a large bowl and mix up a nice and good. Spread out the mixture on baking sheets lined with parchment paper. ** Use as many baking sheets as you need to spread out your s’mores popcorn in a nice even layer. You want as thin a layer as you can get. Next, melt your melting chocolates according to package instructions. Once your chocolate is melted, spoon into a piping bag (or in my case a ziplock bag with a tiny hole cut in one of the corners) and drizzle all over your s’mores popcorn mix. Allow trays to sit out so that they chocolate hardens back up. It was pretty warm in my house today so I popped my baking sheets into the fridge and freezer to speed things along.

It was so delicious! My little guy kept sneaking bites all afternoon. And I honestly could not make the popcorn fast enough for my kids (or my husband – shhh!!). I think they would have eaten the whole box if I would have let them.

As I mentioned we love having family movie night at home but I’d be lying if I didn’t tell you that my kids LOVE to go to the movie theater as well. We’ve gone quite a few times this summer and next up on our list of movies to see is Fantastic Four. A few of my favorite actors are in it  so I’m especially excited to see it. If you happen to be shopping at Walmart buy any 3 Pop-Secret items between 7/31 – 8/31 and get a Free ticket to the Fantastic Four movie (up to $5) while supplies last. In this day and age where everything seems to be expensive, this little savings will come in handy.

What are some of your favorite Pop Secret flavors? I’d love to hear about it in the comments.
