printable countdown to christmas calendar

When my kids were smaller I would make a Countdown to Christmas Advent Calendar each year. They loved seeing what activities the days held. We didn’t do anything really extravagant. Some days it was just “watch a Christmas movie” or “drive around and look at Christmas lights”.

And some days it was a game of catch up for the previous days we missed. Can I get an amen?

While this countdown is simple in nature because we are just using it to countdown until Christmas, I have an awesome Advent Calendar Activity sheet that I’m pulling from the archives. You’ll get this awesome FREE Christmas Printable AND a Printable Advent Activities sheet in one easy download.

how to use a christmas countdown calendar

If you’re wondering how on earth this printable can be used as a Christmas Countdown Calendar, let me explain just how easy it is! You actually have 2 options.

Your first option is to print the “Days Until Christmas” sign out onto copy paper or card stock and laminate it. You can use a dry erase marker to keep track of the days. So simple!

Laminating Tip 1: If you don’t have a laminator (like me) I love to use these Self-Adhesive Laminating Sheets. I’ve used them on many, many projects and they are awesome.

Laminating Tip 2: If you don’t have laminating sheets (or a way to get them) you can just use clear packing tape. This method takes a tiny bit longer but works just the same.

No Laminating Necessary Option: If you have no means of laminating this printable whatsoever, why not put it in a picture frame and use a dry erase marker right on the glass.

I believe THIS is the easiest option. 😉

Your second option (and one that will take some extra time and supplies) is to use your Silhouette or Cricut electronic cutting machine and cut the FREE Christmas Countdown SVG out of vinyl. Make sure you have a chalkboard (or chalkboard paint to convert any surface into chalkboard) and chalk on hand for this project idea.

No matter which idea you choose to use for your Christmas Countdown, I know your kids will love it.
