Simple Valentine Wreath

I saw this adorable scrap fabric garland over at My Blessed Life that totally inspired me to create this Valentine’s Day Wreath. Finally a project I could do with supplies I already had on hand.  Woo!   I had this wreath laying around and thought it would be great to re-use. You probably can’t tell by looking at it but it’s one of those super cheap straw ones. All I did was wrap it in strips of painters drop cloth and then covered it in pink tulle. Supplies: Wreath Form Felt Scrap Fabric Bakers Twine Ribbon Glue Gun I  cut out 2 hearts (only one pictured) from felt to use as my base and then cut  red and pink sheets of felt into strips. I rolled the strips into little rosettes and then hot glued them onto the felt hearts. (Totally thought I took a picture of this but I … [Read more...]

Simple Valentine’s Day Decorations {Garland}

A few weeks ago I came across some cute Valentine’s Day cards in the dollar section at Target so I picked them up knowing that I’d find some way to use them. The envelopes were brown and the cards were just simple hearts in red and pinks. ……..SUPPLIES…….. Paper Hearts Envelopes Bakers Twine Washi Tape Doilies I just created a pattern: Envelope, solid heart, doily. Repeat. So simple and it literally took me minutes to do. I just realized that all of the supplies came from Target. Even the cute polka dot washi tape. A garland like this would look cute draped across a mantel or shelf,  across a wall behind a Valentine's Day Party table, in a classroom, etc.  If you need some more Valentine’s Day decorations, download some subway art here and here. *** Don’t … [Read more...]

Valentine’s Day Fabric Wreath

Hey guys! Can't believe we are almost through January, I am getting really excited for Valentines Day! Here is another project that is super easy, not as quick as some in the past, but can easily be done while watching evening t.v. Supplies:Fabric-2.5 yards worked for me with left oversWire Wreath Form-18inchesScissorsDecorative Centerpiece Start off by cutting your fabric into one inch strips. You can go the length of your yard. Then cut your strips into 8inch lengths, so you will have pieces of 1x8. Make A LOT of these in all of your fabrics. Make them into piles so you can create a pattern. I really liked my wreath form because it has two different "levels". Start out with making a knot around the top "level" Slide it all the way to the end, there are little metal markers that help … [Read more...]

Valentine Subway Art {Free Printable}

For the longest time, the walls in my living room were pretty bare and I just kept drawing a blank as to what to do with them. Over Christmas break, my husband mounted our tv which got me in the mood to start decorating. Doing that one thing really made a bit difference in our living room. We bought a media console to go under it and our living room was finally starting to come together and I knew that I had found a home for some Valentine subway art to display. On Thanksgiving I had asked my dad to build me a mantle shelf for the wall opposite the tv. I know that it was easy enough to do ourselves but knew that we wouldn’t have the time before Christmas to do it and well……….I kind of wanted it like yesterday so my dad came to the rescue. “While you’re at … [Read more...]
