How to Plan a Muffins for Moms Event
Mother’s Day is just around the corner, and what better way to honor the incredible moms in our lives than with a special Muffins for Moms celebration.
This special occasion offers the perfect opportunity to show appreciation for all that mothers do, from the everyday tasks to the amazing ways moms make us feel loved and cared for.
MUFFINS FOR MOM: SAVORING THE SWEETNESS OF MOTHER’S DAY
Mother’s Day is a time to shower our moms with love and gratitude, and a “Muffins for Moms” event is the perfect way to do just that. Whether it’s an intimate gathering in your home with your close mom friends and family or a church/school event, this simple idea lets us to express our appreciation for all the moms in our lives.
HOW TO PLAN A SIMPLE MUFFINS FOR MOMS EVENT
My friend, Nicole, and I head up the hospitality committee at our church. Last year, we added a simple Muffins for Moms event on Mother’s Day.
It’s by far the easiest event we plan. That and Donuts for Dads but that will be another post. 😉
Throughout the year we plan events from holiday parties and birthday celebrations to picnics and potlucks. Those events take a lot of time and energy to put together.
Muffins for Moms is one of my favorites because it’s quick and easy to pull off.
It’s a simple, heartfelt gesture to celebrate mom and remind her of just how much she means to us.
3 SIMPLE WAYS TO PLAN A MUFFINS FOR MOM EVENT
Create A Focal Point to Display Muffins
You can pack a powerful punch with decorating for an event like Muffins for Moms without breaking the bank. You don’t even need a whole room to pull it off.
At our church we used a window wall in our lobby and added stick on fringes that we purchased on Amazon to create a backdrop. We strung a cute Mother’s Day banner that we also got off of Amazon to add a little depth.
Use Store-Bought Muffins for Muffins for Moms Event
As I mentioned above, we wanted to keep this event as simple as we could so we opted for store-bought muffins.
Thankfully we have a membership to Sam’s Club and were able to pick up Otis Spunkmeyer Muffins (blueberry, chocolate and banana nut) that came pre-wrapped in boxes of 15 each.
This was a huge time saver for busy moms like us.
But because we can’t leave well enough alone, we took things up a notch by unwrapping the muffins and putting each one in bakery bags with cute Mother’s Day stickers.
Side note: That was a lot of work so this year we’re skipping this part.
Table Display Ideas for Muffins for Moms on Mother’s Day
Again, we wanted to keep it simple so we placed the wrapped muffins on clear, plastic serving trays and placed tent cards with each flavor in front of the appropriate tray.
Every table needs a pretty sign, so I created this beautiful Muffins for Moms sign and framed it.
We know that most people have plans for Mother’s Day so we didn’t make this a sit down event. We basically provided muffins to grab-and-go on their way out of church so that each mom can go enjoy their special day.
PHOTO BOOTH
This is totally optional but we love providing a photo booth for our events. Our resident photographer, Alyssa from Fearlyss Photography, graciously set this up for us. Families can pose in front of it and use their own phones to take photos.
MOTHER’S DAY PRINTABLES: ADDING A PERSONLAIZED TOUCH
