World Kindness Day FREE SVG

In a world where you can be anything, be kind. In honor of World Kindness Day, grab this FREE “Kindness is Free, Pass it On” SVG cut file and add it to shirts, mugs, tote bags and more!

One thing I’ve noticed over the years is that there seems to be an obscure holiday for everything. While some holidays I find outlandish, like Play Your Ukulele Day and Public Sleeping Day, I don’t share that same sentiment with World Kindness Day.

In the Bible, 1st Corinthians 13 is known as the Love chapter. In verse 4 it says “Love it patient, love is kind”. Kindness is something that people all over the world can relate to and understand.

Do we need a special day to be kind to others? No. We should show kindness daily. However, I will never declare a particular day stupid if it aligns with the word of God.

So, Happy World Kindness Day friends!

What is World Kindness Day

World Kindness Day was established in 1998 in order to promote kindness around the world. It’s celebrated internationally every year on November 13th. On that day you can do things like donate books, clothes and food to charities in your community.

What Should We Do on World Kindness Day

The beauty of World Kindness Day is that you can decide how you’d like to celebrate it or participate in it.

The main purpose, of course, is to be kind. What does kindness look like to you? For children that might mean sharing a toy or snack with a friend. It could look like helping a classmate tie a shoe.

An act of kindness could be as simple as sharing a smile.

For adults an act of kindness could be paying for the car behind you at Dunkin Donuts or Starbucks. It could be choosing to extend grace when someone wrongs you. It could also just be taking a few minutes out of your busy day to shoot off an encouraging text to a struggling friend.

There is no act of kindness too big or too small.

Random Acts of Kindness

Showing kindness doesn’t have to be a huge gesture. It can be something so simple and totally random. Coffee Cups and Crayons blog has an awesome list of 100 Random Acts of Kindness ideas.

Here are a few of my favorites.

  • Send a card to a service member – Since World Kindness Day is just 2 days away from Veterans Day this could be an awesome group activity for an entire class.
  • Write chalk messages on the sidewalk
  • Leave Kindness Stones at the Park
  • Leave Happy Notes Around Town
  • Bake a Dessert for a Neighbor

These are just a few simple ideas but using your imagination, I know you can come up with so many more on your own.

In honor of World Kindness Day, a few friends and I got together to design some FREE Kindness Themed SVG Files.

My contribution is this groovy retro “Kindness is Free, Pass it On” SVG file.

This “Kindness is Free, Pass it On” cut file download comes with an SVG and a transparent PNG.

The SVG is on a 12×12 artboard but you can size it up or down to your liking in Silhouette Studio or Cricut Design Space. The PNG is 300 dpi which is perfect for printing if you don’t have an electronic cutting machine.

NOTE: If you have Silhouette Studio basic edition, you will need a DXF file. This file will only be provided upon request.

Your files will be in a zipped folder that you’ll need to extract. It is strongly recommended that you download your files from a laptop or desktop computer.

WHAT CAN I MAKE WITH AN SVG FILE

There are so many ways that SVGs can be used but let’s talk about how a crafter like yourself can use them. Here are some of my favorite project ideas for using cut files.

Wood Signs and Door Hangers: To make signs you will need a wood craft blank, vinyl, transfer tape, weeding tools, paint, cutting mat and your Silhouette or Cricut machine.

Tumblers and Water Bottle Decals: If you want to add this design to a tumbler or water bottle you will need a drink blank which you can pick up at Target, Michaels, etc. and the same items from the wood sign.

Tote Bags: We’re living in a time where reusable bags and totes are a must have when going shopping. To make a tote bag, you will need a blank tote bag (the canvas ones from Michaels or Hobby Lobby would be perfect), HTV (heat transfer vinyl), heat press or home iron, weeding tools, cutting mat and of course your Silhouette or Cricut.

Shirts, Hoodies and Hats: Using these SVGs on fabric is one of the most popular ways to use it. To make a shirt, hoodie or tote bag you’ll need HTV (heat transfer vinyl), heat press or home iron, weeding tools, cutting mat and of course your Silhouette or Cricut.

I share step-by-step instructions in this post. I go over how to use your Silhouette Studio software to get your SVG ready for cutting including mirroring the image and cut settings.

Sublimation: If you have a sublimation printer, use the PNG file along with the craft blank of your choice and get creative. Note: colors on your screen might vary from the printed version.

Stickers: I love stickers and they are easier to make than you think. To make stickers you will need to use the PNG file sized way down, full sheet labels, cutting mat and your machine.

How do you get the different colors when you make the t-shirts? Do you just separate the letters you want for different colors, cut them separately, and then put them all together? Just wondering if there is an easier way. Thanks! I love your designs!

    1. Hi Ann, You can definitely do that although it would be a bit time consuming. An alternative would be to cut each word out of different colors (of your choosing) and that would be a bit easier. Another idea is to use the PNG file and use the sublimation method. When I display my designs in color, it’s usually to appeal to those who sublimate. 🙂 I hope this helps and thanks so much for reaching out! XO
