Wet Bags

**SCROLL DOWN TO NEXT POST FOR MONDAY’S LINKY PARTY**

With our vacation only a few days away I wanted to finally try my hand at making Wet Bags. If you have never heard of Wet Bags they are simply zippered (or velco if you like) bags lined with plastic and they are great for storing wet bathing suits or any other wet item of clothing that you want to keep separate from everything else. I searched online for an easy tutorial and came across this one over at Little Birdie Secrets. I found it to be very easy to follow. Here’s the finished product:

Just as I thought, the last one (the polka dot one on top) came out the best. Third times a charm, huh? I made 3 because we are vacationing with friends and didn’t want to leave the little guy out. šŸ™‚

On my first attempt I used clear vinyl that I had purchased from Joann’s ages ago. I did not like using that at all. It kept sticking and it was not fun. For the 2nd and 3rd bags I used a plain medium grade white shower curtain. This one worked out great and I was really happy with how easy it was to use. šŸ™‚

I’m linking up to these parties this week:

  1. This is a great idea! For an upcoming baby shower, I am making a large basket of goodies. I.E. a baby quilt, matching changing pad with pocket for wipes and diapers, custom onesies, burp cloths, and so on. This would be a cute addition for when the parents are out and the baby clothes get soiled from different things (haha) and you don’t just want to throw them in your bag!

  2. Those are darling! I may attempt them one of these days. It would be nice to have one or two to keep in the “grandma’s house bag”. I have a couple from cloth diapering and they are sooo handy for accidents, etc. I used to keep damp washrags in a small one for wiping faces while on car trips, etc. I need to get these out, thanks for the reminder!

I was looking for swim bags to make last week… I came across that tut too, but then decided on the easier (lazier) towel bag from the Idea Room. šŸ˜‰ GREAT JOB!

  4. Oh my gosh…I love that idea soooo much!! I’m going to attempt one of these myself but I have an idea they won’t turn out quite so cute. šŸ™‚

I love this idea! Summertime has so many wet clothes! In Phoenix those get heated up in the car so quickly. It would be great to have them in a closed wet bag! Thanks for the idea.
