Q and A Time………and……..Just Something I Whipped Up

I have a confession to make. I miss crafting. I miss doing projects and then posting about them and then linking them up to other fun parties around the web. Seems like I have not had much time to do the things that I really love doing. When I started this blog it was for the intent of sharing my own projects and since then it has sort of evolved. I like the direction it’s taken but sometimes I miss “the good old days”.

In the month of September we have some new events taking place like Etsy Originals, our once a month link party where Etsy shop owners can add their shop to our link list. It’s a great way to promote your business and hopefully gain some exposure.

The week of September 13 through 17 we have our Creative Chick Parade where bloggers will be linking up to specific projects like Mod Podge and Sewing on specific days. You can read more about it HERE.

It’s going to be a fun month!

I would like some feedback though regarding The Girl Creative Blog in general. If you could answer these questions, I would really appreciate it:

  • What do you like best about The Girl Creative blog?
  • What would you like to see more of?
  • Do you think parties on both Mondays and Fridays are too much?
  • Would you like to see more giveaways or prefer to keep things just crafty here?
  • Do you love it just the way it is and wouldn’t change a thing?

By giving me some feedback I can tweak the blog to help make it more appealing to you. Any feedback given will be greatly appreciated. 🙂

  1. I think your blog is fun and creative and inspiring. 🙂 If you WANT to post more of your own creative projects, then you should. When I sign up to Follow a blog, it’s because I like the writing, the projects, or the person. 🙂 I lose interest when the blogger introduces too many guest posts, Giveaways, and blog swaps b/c I feel like I’m missing out on what I originally liked about the blog so much.

So…keep up the good work and take some time for yourself to be crafty and creative. 🙂

  2. I really enjoy your blog too and like it just the way it is. I haven’t linked up in awhile as this summer has been crazy and I haven’t had time to be crafty at all and I haven’t even had time to bake, but I am ready to get back in the swing of things.

  3. I’m with Amanda. I think your blog is great. I don’t think you need more giveaways (ironic, I know, since I just linked one up). For me it’s all about the crafting and what we all share about the process as we go, the rest is secondary. I hope you get to focus on the crafty part for your sake, if you’re missing it.

  4. I don’t like too many giveaways and too many reviews either. Every once in awhile isn’t bad but it has too many it just isn’t interesting. Same with blog hops, if that is ALL the blog is about, I don’t see the point. With the exception of recipe share links, I don’t enter blog hops. I don’t like the idea of the only reason for linking up being to get followers. I want followers who actually READ and are interested in my blog. I like your Friday hop as it is a good way to get to see new sites without any requirements. I LIKE the idea of going to the site before yours and the site after, but not requiring to follow.

I also like your Monday hop as long as it is okay for me to link up recipes. i like to visit craft sites but I am not too crafty so I am all about recipes! Thanks!

  5. Love your blog. Love.
The aesthetics of it are brilliant, so easy on the eye.
Yes, I agree with other comments.
When I read blogs, I do get disappointed with too many giveaways, reviews and guest posts only because I miss the essence the blog creator, which is usually why I start reading the blog.
As my own blog grows, I am trying to be aware of that very thing, but it is hard! I have also felt as growth happens that I have less time to create myself!!! Pros and cons of growth, but I am so thankful for my readers.
Keep doing what you do, you are so inspirational!!

  6. I think your blog is wonderful just as it is – but if you did make any changes I’m sure they would work out great too. By the way, I find your Monday and Friday parties are a source of great ideas and inspiration.

  7. I can honestly say that I love your blog the way it is, but certainly would love to for you to have more time to create & share.
Thanks for all the inspiration – all your work is truly appreciated!

  8. Hey, this is your place to be creative and if you miss it, get craftin’…but I luv ya just the way you are. Your parties are great and thanks for having me each week! By the way, too many parties? I’d be happy to host one for you!

  9. I enjoy your blog very much! I appreciate the opportunity to link a project that I’ve made — a little brag time! I particularly LOVE the large images of your party! I can’t really stress that enough.

I do notice that your blog is very slow in loading. The images do not want to show up, and I do have to wait longer for your blog to load than any other.

That’s the only thing I can think might be helpful to share with you.

Thank you so much for hosting this party.

  10. I agree with everyone too. I love giveaways! I am even doing one NOW (hint hint) but it’s only to celebrate my new lil blog hitting 100 followers. I probably wont do another for quite awhile! I would love to see more of YOUR crafts! I love seeing what other creative minds come up with. I love saying “who would of thought of that” 20 times a day while surfing blogs!!
The link parties are great because it opens up the inspiration and creativeness to everyone!! I love how your blog looks too!! I’m a very happy follower! I would love to see more of YOU tho!

  11. First, I’ll say that I love your link parites and the fact that your thumbnails for them are large and in charge. Second, I’ll say that giveaways get kinda annoying after awhile and I think you’ve got a great balance already as far as variety of posts go. Lastly, I’ll encourage you to do what you enjoy doing and let that dictate your posts. It’d be a shame if blogging became a chore or something you felt obligated to do. Thanks for listening AND for running this creative place!

  12. Love the site– fav thing is the bright colors. We’ve noticed when blogs get so popular, ad’s and giveaways to draw in followers kind of overtake it. We’re all about the tutorials, before/afters and crafts so that’s what we personally like to see 😉
I think a link party once a week is great but then again, we posted to both! 😉

Thanks again for hosting! Love it!

  13. I like your upcoming ideas and that your Mon & Fri parties are different. I fell in love with your blog because of the lovely craft stuff & the personal touch you gave it. Some craft blogs are really big now & it seems like they’re nothing but giveaways (and mostly for things that have nothing to do with crafts) and having others guest post. TGC is one of the few that isn’t.

  14. so i was planning on adding a link to the etsy link party, but when i was scrolling down it must of jumped ahead to this link party. sorry i know etsy items aren’t supposed to be here, but i can’t figure out how to delete it.
