Oz the Great and Powerful Inspired Party with Free Printables

*This is a sponsored post. I received monetary and product compensation for this post via The Blueprint Social  but the thoughts are entirely my own.

It’s not very often that I get to go on date nights with my girls (usually reserved for daddy/daughter nights) but a few months ago my 2 girls and I went to the movies and saw Oz the Great and Powerful. We all loved it so when the opportunity arose to preview the movie on DVD before it’s release I jumped at the chance.  My girls jumped too when it came in the mail. That was a few days ago and the movie had not budged from our DVD player and it may as well be set on “repeat”.

Oz the Great and Powerful Party

With my daughter’s birthday coming up next month I thought it would be fun to take a little adventure to the Land of Oz and put together a little sample party of things that the movie inspired me to create.

We all know that Glinda is kind of famous for floating around in a bubble so of course we had to have some of Glinda’s Bubbles (bubble gum) as well as some of the Emerald City’s Gold (Rolos).

No party is complete without some amazing treats so we added some cupcakes with Oz inspired Cupcake Toppers.

I chose rainbows, bubbles and butterflies for the design. In one of the first scenes where Oz arrives in, well OZ, you see this beautiful tree with what appears to be pink flowers. A few moments later these flowers flit away………they were actually butterflies. I thought that was so cool! Such fun, such imagination in Oz.

There is so much inspiration in Oz the Great and Powerful that a person could really go all out with planning an Oz inspired party. The colors in the movie were bright and brilliant so when planning a party  you can really go with any color scheme. There was humor in it as well as the age old story of good vs. evil.

Oz the Great and Powerful

If you’d like to throw an Oz inspired party, I have some fun printables to help you get started.

Here are step by step instructions on how to created the elements I used.

To re-create Glinda’s Bubbles and Emerald City Gold you will need mason jars, full sheet labels, “bubbles” and “gold” labels (provided in download link below), washi tape, gum balls and Rolos. Fill your jars with bubble gum and Rolos, wrap the edge of the lid with washi tape and use a 3″ circle/scallop punch to cut out the Glinda’s Bubbles and Emerald City Gold labels and place on top of mason jar. Optional: tie string or ribbon around the neck of the jar for some added fun.

To re-create Cupcake Toppers you will need a 2.5″ circle or flourish punch, lollipop sticks, card stock and tape. Print out cupcake topper labels (provided in download link below), cut out using paper punch and using tape attach lollipop stick to the back of the cut out. Stick topper into cupcake. Optional: tie ribbon on the lollipop stick right under the cupcake topper label.

To create the rainbow banner you will need card stock, hole punch, scissors or paper cutter and ribbon or tulle. Print out the letters of your choice depending on what you want your banner to say (printable banner is provided in the download link below), cut the pennants out and assemble with ribbon or tulle.

Here’s what you get all in one download:
