Lollipop Valentines

With Valentine’s Day a few days away I wanted to post something Valentine related before that ship had sailed. I mean, I posted my Valentine’s wreath back in January I think but that’s been it. I’ve had a few ideas that I wanted to share but never got around to making them. I thought all hope was lost until I came across THIS post and knew it was something I could do and the girls could help, making everyone happy.

If I can help it, I’d rather make Valentine’s for my girls’ friends at school rather than just fill out the store bought ones. Last year for Emilee’s Jr.Kindergarten class, I made THESE. In keeping with my lollipop theme, this year, this is what I’m making thanks toMichelle at Land of Misfit Toys.

Here’s what you need:
Lollipops (preferable flat ones – I used Sweet Tart lollies)
Card stock
Hole Punch
Jute
Double Stick Tape
Heart Cut outs
Distress Ink (of course)
*No progress pics……sorry!

I took my card stock, folded it in half and cut it. Then I cut the halves of paper into 3 sections. Does that make sense? You will need to measure your lollies to see how wide your paper needs to be.

Next I folded my small pieces of paper in half. I took my hearts that I cut out with my Cricut and stuck them on my paper using double sided tape. After that I distressed the edges with my distress ink. I then stuck the lolly inside the paper and secured it with double sided tape. I folded the top part of the paper (the one with the hearts on it) over the lollypop, punched a hole on each side of the stick, looped my jute through it and tied a bow.

*Note: Before we decorated the card stock I had my girls write their friends names on the back so that they could hand them out at school.

So, simple right? And totally adorable!
