While driving home from the store today I had an idea (insert lightbulb here). I wanted to create a list that had all important phone numbers on it to put on my fridge. I already had a little small one but of course I will use any excuse to craft, so as soon as I got home I got to work.
The Supplies:
Distress Ink
Double Sided Tape
Scrapbook Paper
Card Stock
Postcard Junk Mail
Magnets
The first thing I did was take my junk mail and wrap the scrapbook paper around it, like I was wrapping a present. I probably should add that the reason I wanted to use junk mail (or the cereal box) was to make this project sturdy.
When it was time to wrap the ends over, I cut the paper off the side where i had folded and taped down the scrapbook paper so that it was not too bulky and so that I only had one layer of paper to fold over. Does that make sense?
Next I opened up my Paint Shop Pro and created my list of phone numbers that I wanted to display. I’m sure you could use MS Word or another program like that but I’m horrible at margins and this was easier for me. I measured my covered mail to see how big it was and then created a list that was a bit smaller.
Once I printed my list out on card stock, I took my distressed ink stamp pads and distressed it. I also distressed my scrapbook covered junk mail for an added touch. Using double sided tape, I taped my list on.
The last thing I did was add magnets on the back at the top and bottom and that’s it.Here it is, in all its glory. Doing it’s job. 🙂
XOXO
