Inspired by a Tissue Box {Yes, you read that correctly}

Hi again my new friends!  It’s Erica from For the Love of Decorating and I’m here to show you another thrifty decor idea this month.

Inspiration can come in many forms…a great fabric, a pillow, an area rug, coffee table, painting, even a tissue box.  YES, I said a TISSUE BOX!

Today I was inspired by tissue boxes of all things 🙂

They are cute, right?
You can mat and frame them, cut them into designs to make artwork, use them in scrapbooking and card making, and many more crafty projects!

Today, I’m using them in those cute little decorative frames that I always see and love (and usually find on clearance) but I find too small or awkward a shape for a picture to really work in.

For this project, you will need :
  • Picture frames – I got my gold Walmart frame at the thrift store for $1, the round silver frame from the Marshall’s clearance section for $1, and the square wooden frame on clearance at target for $3.98
  • Tissue boxes – I don’t need to tell you where to get those right? Ha!
  • Scissors
  • Twine – Not a necessity but I added to one of mine for more interest
  • Tape
  • Glue (if using twine)
For the irregular shaped frames, like this one below, I used the backing (or you can use the insert that comes with it) as a template and simply trace around the back of the tissue box and cut it out.

Then it’s just a matter of adding some details like twine or ribbon (if you want), placing inside the frame (taping it down if there is a mat in the frame), and closing her up.
