Things to do with Pumpkins (decorating with and eating)

Fall is my absolute favorite time of year. I love the colors and I especially love the cooler weather. We got teased here in NY with some cool weather early in September and then BAM it went back to hot and muggy – 2 of my least favorite things. Even today, it’s about 72 degrees outside and it’s soooo sticky.  Gross. {Update: it has taken me ALL day to do this blog post and now it has finally cooled off……..but now it’s raining!}
Anyhow, I thought my life would have gotten simpler with my 2 oldest going back to school but I just feel like I don’t have time to do anything. I’ve managed to sort of get into a rhythm with laundry but ummm, that’s about it. I was just telling my husband the other day that I feel like I have so much that I NEED to do that I don’t have any time to do the things I WANT to do. I fee like nothing is getting done 100% because I’m just overwhelmed by what to do first. I have not crafted in…..oh about 5 months it seems. I had such grand ideas for embellishing some plain tees that I got the girls for school but I feel like I can’t even whip out my sewing machine because there is an email that needs to be sent; bills that need to get paid; Sunday School schedules to work out’; laundry that needs to be folded and put away. You get the idea.
I’ve barely had time to put up my party post each week. In fact, I missed a week. In the year and a half that I’ve been hosting Just Something I Whipped Up, I don’t think i have missed a single party. I guess that’s what happens when you add a new baby and other responsibilities to your plate.
Before I share with you some cool Pinterest finds, I do have to say that I’m doing good with my eating. I’ve lost about 11 lbs in the last 4 weeks or so and I feel like I have my eating somewhat under control. I’m taking it one day at a time.

Okay, nothing says “Fall” to me than pumpkins. So I figured why not have a Pumpkin Palooza post and share some Pumpkin inspiration.

  1. Congrats on your weight loss!! I think we all go through times where we are so busy but not getting anything done. It really stinks but it will pass, hang in there!

  2. Thanks so much for featuring my book page pumpkin! Pumpkins are one of my favorite things about fall too, so I am loving all of these awesome projects and treats!
    Congrats on the weight loss; that is awesome!

  3. Stopped by after from another blogger’s site and now following you thru GFC and Facebook. I would love a follow back when you get the chance. I love pumpkin but developed a bladder condition called IC which means I can’t have anything with potassium or I get severe bladder cramps. Pumpkin, sweet pototoes and even white potatoes are loaded in potassium, even more than bananas! So, I miss the pies but my bladder does not. I would love a follow back when you get the time. Thanks so much for your help and have a great weekend.

  4. We did have some crazy fall weather in NY, didn’t we (I’m outside of Syracuse!). And I know exactly how you feel about so much that needs to be done that theres never time to do what you want to do. I have 2 kids (2 and 4) with one coming after Thanksgiving and there is never enough time… between the never-ending chores, the RS lessons to plan, the activities for the kids, there just isn’t enough time (or energy!) to do anything that I want to do without feeling guilty about what’s going undone for the sake of my wants. BUT, I find that it helps my sanity and keeps me from feeling so invisible or like I”m not a real person when I do let something slide for what I want to do. I’d love to know if you’re near by Syracuse… stop by my blog to let me know… if you want. 🙂
