Easy DIY Hair Clips

A new school year is just around the corner and my girls are in desperate need of some new hair accessories so I decided to take a quick 15 minutes and make some easy DIY Hair Clips. These simple clips are super easy to make and I was able to get 6 done in a matter of 15 minutes. Imagine how many you could get done during nap time! Even if you don’t have little girls at home, these handmade hair clips would be the perfect gift for any little girl in your life. Heck, I may even sport a few in my hair too!

Step One: Put hot glue on the end of a ribbon about the length of the alligator clip. Pinch open the clip so that you can stick the ribbon with blue in between the top and bottom (glue side up) and allow clip to close. This will adhere the top of the clip to the ribbon.

Step Two: While the glue is still hot, fold the ribbon over the top of the alligator clip and smooth it. Add more glue to the top part of the clip where you pinch it to open and to the back of the clip where you pinch it. This will give the clip a nice finished edge. Trim excess ribbon from the back of the clip.

Step Three: Take your flower embellishment (I used regular paper flowers from the scrapbooking section at Michaels but you can use whatever you have on hand) and glue a cabochan to the center of it.

Cabochans

Step Four: Glue the flower onto the ribbon covered alligator clip and you are done!
