Burlap and Fabric Wreath and a New Sponsor
The emails are quickly coming in for sponsors. Yay! Thanks to everyone who has contacted me. There’s still room for February, so if you are interested, please send me an email. 🙂
Before I get to my project, I want to introduce you to My Fine Art, one of our talented sponsors. My Fine Art specializes in taking your favorite digital photos and transferring them to canvas creating a beautiful piece of art. You can choose black and white or color and you can even add wording if you choose. I took a look at her shop and thought she did a beautiful job. Please stop by My Fine Art and take a look around. You won’t be sorry.
I know many of you have seen the burlap wreath featured over HERE. I decided to follow her instructions but change it up a bit to make it my own (I sound like a judge on American Idol, they always say that!!) I decided to add a little fabric to mine and this is what I got.
I followed the same instructions that Linda used but I added a strip of fabric (cut about an inch or 2 thinner than my burlap strips) to my strip of burlap and got to work. I wound up using about 9 strips of each. I didn’t measure how long they were but I can guestimate that they were maybe 18 inches long?
Once I got my wreath nice and full, I turned it over and hot glued a strip of felt around the back to help keep all my pieces in place. I found that they kept spinning around every time I moved it and that drove me nuts!
I took a strip of matching fabric and made a loop to hang it on my front door. I will probably eventually but a different loop on it, maybe something solid to break up the colors a bit, but for now I think it looks okay.
*Burlap tends to fray so I just trimmed the strands (not shown here though) off.
As always, I will be linking up at my favorite linky parties posted in my sidebar. 🙂

I love this! Nice job making the wreath your own.
Love your switch-up with adding the fabric strip! I linked you on my blog at http://www.itisagoodday.blogspot.com in today’s post. Thanks!!
What a great idea – love it! OK – I could use that for my door – it would fit perfectly there!
Heading over to your new sponsor – gotta share the “sponsor love”! Ha –
I definitely like how you made this your own. I have been wanting to get one made for awhile now. As soon as I can find a wire hanger or some wire, I will be making me a wreath of some sort. I have the red burlap…but am struggling with the wire part. Hopefully I can come up with something this weekend.
So pretty – said one Long Island girl to another! =)
Very nice! I don’t think it needs anything else – I like it just as is. I even like the frays. 🙂 http://tinyurl.com/yfk8bn3 this is my tutorial this week, it’s got frays too 🙂
Originally from North Bellmore and now living in Wantagh! South Shore girl all the way! LOL!

Love the mix of burlap with the fabric! And I love that fabric…I’ve used it for several sewing projects. Thanks for sharing!
First time here. Love your blog and great, great job on the wreath!!! I finished my wreath last night. Now just to get pictures and a blog post, ha! 🙂
I’ve seen a lot of burlap wreaths around blogland, but yours is actually cute and something I want on my front door! Thanks!
Oh the seasonal possibilities with this craft!
Love it!!! Thanks for sharing!
This is so cute! Love your choice of fabrics.
Very cute! Great idea adding the fabric to the back to keep the pieces in place. I’m having problems with sliding on the burlap wreath I’m working on.
Love the addition of the fabric……I’m definitely making one of these.
