The emails are quickly coming in for sponsors. Yay! Thanks to everyone who has contacted me. There’s still room for February, so if you are interested, please send me an email. 🙂
Before I get to my project, I want to introduce you to My Fine Art, one of our talented sponsors. My Fine Art specializes in taking your favorite digital photos and transferring them to canvas creating a beautiful piece of art. You can choose black and white or color and you can even add wording if you choose. I took a look at her shop and thought she did a beautiful job. Please stop by My Fine Art and take a look around. You won’t be sorry.
I know many of you have seen the burlap wreath featured over HERE. I decided to follow her instructions but change it up a bit to make it my own (I sound like a judge on American Idol, they always say that!!) I decided to add a little fabric to mine and this is what I got.
I followed the same instructions that Linda used but I added a strip of fabric (cut about an inch or 2 thinner than my burlap strips) to my strip of burlap and got to work. I wound up using about 9 strips of each. I didn’t measure how long they were but I can guestimate that they were maybe 18 inches long?
Once I got my wreath nice and full, I turned it over and hot glued a strip of felt around the back to help keep all my pieces in place. I found that they kept spinning around every time I moved it and that drove me nuts!
I took a strip of matching fabric and made a loop to hang it on my front door. I will probably eventually but a different loop on it, maybe something solid to break up the colors a bit, but for now I think it looks okay.
*Burlap tends to fray so I just trimmed the strands (not shown here though) off.
As always, I will be linking up at my favorite linky parties posted in my sidebar. 🙂
