What can i use instead of graham crackers for s’mores?

Instead of graham crackers you can use just about anything to make s’mores. All you really need to make traditional s’mores is some kind of cookie base to sandwich all the gooey marshmallows and chocolate between.

Cookies are a good substitute for graham crackers. My favorites are the soft chewy chocolate chip ones with peanut butter cups. They are delicious on their own but imagine them with marshmallow and chocolate smushed between them? Drool-worthy for sure.

Saltines or Ritz crackers are a good substitute for graham crackers while making s’mores. Sure they are probably a bit more messy due to their crumbly nature but if you’re eating s’mores are you really worried about messy?

how to make s’mores in the microwave

So you’re craving s’mores but you don’t have access to a fire pit or campfire. What then? As long as you have the fixings for s’mores and a microwave then you can enjoy the softy, gooey messiness that is eating s’mores.

Step One: Construct your s’mores the way you normally would. Graham Cracker bottom, chocolate, marshmallow. Leave the top graham cracker off.

Step Two: Put s’mores on a microwave safe plate and microwave for 10-15 seconds. Your marshmallow will expand. Grab your kids so they can watch. This is always fun for them to see. Check to see if the chocolate has melted. If not, put it back in the microwave for another couple of seconds.

Step Three: Add the graham cracker top and enjoy. Be sure it’s not too hot before taking a bite.
