Printable Scrapbook Paper

Printable Scrapbook Papers

A few years ago, even before I started this blog, I tried my hand at digital scrapbook designing. I don't do too much of it now but whenever I need some graphics or papers or backgrounds I try to make them myself. Seamless polka dots are one of the easiest things to make so I tend to use them a lot. I created this printable scrapbook paper for you to download for FREE. What's cool about this is that it can be used for a number of things. You can print them out, of course, and use them for your scrapbook or paper craft projects or you can use them in your digiscrap projects or even in your blog designs. The papers are all seamless patterns so when used as a blog background, the pattern flows with no seams.   Score!! … [Read more...]

Teach Me Tuesday

Welcome to September's edition of Teach Me Tuesday. I shared this tutorial over at Lucky Star Lane earlier in the year during a guest post but realized I never shared it here and with school starting this week, I just don't have time to create a new tutorial so hopefully you guys will enjoy this one. I'm sure it can be improved some so if anyone happens to take a stab at this and makes revisions, let me know. I'd love to see it. :)At my house we have this shelf above the sink that seems to be the dumping ground for anything kicking around the kitchen that does not have a permanent home. Since our kitchen is the main hub I often find myself taking my receipts from the grocery store (and Hobby Lobby!) and tossing them up on that shelf. As you can imagine it gets very cluttered especially … [Read more...]

Jute Word Frames

Finally, a project to share! I'm a Jesus lovin' girl, you all know that (at least I hope you do) so I decided to create the name of Jesus using picture frames, jute and my Cricut to put up on my shelf in my living room. This shelf has sort of been the holiday shelf only I'm really, really bad at keeping up with it. Since Easter is around the corner I decided I wanted a little reminder about what the holiday really is about. While I made one using the name of Jesus, you can really use this project to spell out anything you'd like. My shelf is not super big and this was just the perfect thing for me.I picked up 5 clear plastic frames at the Christmas Tree Shop in various sizes. I took my hot glue gun, secured the end of the jute to the back of the frame on the bottom and just kept wrapping … [Read more...]

Easy Chipboard Books Kids Can Make

You seriously would not believe what went on in my house this weekend with my "adventurous" daughters. I mean seriously. They out-did themselves. Let's just put it this way: they are lucky they are alive and I don't mean from the severe punishment that they received for their dangerous antics! They are only 6 and 3 but it was bad. They were sentenced to their room last night (only allowed out for dinner) and had the tv taken away from them last night and today. So, what's a mom to do with 2 crazies on a weekend with no place to go and no TV to watch? Craft!When me and the Mr. got married we moved over 2 hours away from my family and over 3 hours away from his. While we love living where we are it does kind of stink being away from family during the holidays especially now that we have … [Read more...]

Dollar Store, Imagination…..Adorable!

Okay, the hubs is at play practice, the girls are in bed, time for some fun! Yeah!!!! I went shopping today at Hobby Lobby and Dollar Tree with no real project or idea in mind. Bad idea. Bad! As I was about to leave the dollar store without making a purchase I spotted these pictures (so wish I would have taken a picture of them alone rather than just in my photo of supplies). The picture themselves were not terrible but definitely not something I wanted or needed for my house. I turned it over and was happy to see that it was pressboard. And then the lightbulb came on and I knew exactly what I wanted to do with them. I picked up a few more things and went home very excited to get to work.Fast forward a few hours after working on my project for my guest post over at Lucky Star Lane … [Read more...]

DVD Case Photo Holder

Disclaimer: I hope you'll excuse my cheesy photos. I'm just putting that out there from the beginning! One of these days I'll take a course in photography and put an end to the horrible pictures in my posts.Now that that is out of the way............Ever have those empty DVD cases that your kids have nearly demolished? You know the ones.........the movies are all scratched so they are long gone; the pictures and paper under the clear plastic stuff has been removed by your 3 year old and has been shredded into confetti. Let's all nod in agreement. I knew you knew what I'm talking about. Well, I decided that they had to be good for something and this is what I came up with. The Supplies:(1) 12x12 sheet of scrapbook paperPhoto of your choiceString, Jute or Ribbon (your choice)Scrap Fabric … [Read more...]

{Wait! Save that Jar!}

Thursday I wrote a post about how I had an idea while driving in the car which led to THIS project. While on the way home I was thinking that I hoped I remembered my idea in the first place because a lot of times my mind is going in a million different directions I swear I have ADD and thoughts come...........and they go. Thankfully I did remember but who's to say I won't forget some other idea. I don't know about you but I do most of my crafting in my kitchen. I've been known to make quite a mess too but it's all in the name of blogging, right? I do have a craft room but the heat is broken in there and my girls tend to run a muck when I go in there anyway.Anyhow, I came up with this idea to make a jar that I could keep in the kitchen and whenever I had an idea for a project, I could … [Read more...]

{Junk Mail Revamp}

While driving home from the store today I had an idea (insert lightbulb here). I wanted to create a list that had all important phone numbers on it to put on my fridge. I already had a little small one but of course I will use any excuse to craft, so as soon as I got home I got to work. I had a piece of a cereal box that I cut up this morning that I wanted to use but the edges were a bit rough, not to mention I did a horrible cutting job and it was all crooked. Looking for a straight edge so draw a line and cut it evenly (that's right, I'm old school too lazy to go upstairs and dig out a ruler, I found an old piece of mail. While it was sitting on the counter, I said to the Mr. "Don't throw that out. I'm going to use it". So of course he said, "But it has writing on it". Silly man. Silly, … [Read more...]

{Finally, A Cricut Project}

I've been tinkering around with my Cricut for a few weeks now and finally have a craft to show off. Although I love my Cricut Create, I'm kind of wishing I had gotten the Expression instead. :( Maybe I'm not having as much fun because I don't have a lot of carts to work with? So far I have Tags, Bags, Boxes and More which is great for tags but not such much bags and boxes..........unless you are making gifts for Smurfs. They kind of come out small. Ok. I'm exaggerating a bit but I think the Expression would be better for that part. I also have Opposites Attract which is font cartridge and I have Don Juan which came with the Cricut. That seems to be my cart of choice.............for now. Hoping to either pick up Design Studio or some more cartridges soon. Alright, enough mindless chatter, … [Read more...]
