Personalized Hand Sanitizer {Dollar Store Craft}

Just call me Last Minute Lucy! lol Yesterday was the last day of school for my  year old and I totally forgot about teacher gifts until the day before. A very classic and all too common move of mine lately. Sigh. Anyhow, having overspent for my husband’s birthday, funds for the next few weeks are limited so I had to get creative. I should also add that I didn’t take the greatest pictures. I was in a rush and my house was a mess so I didn’t really clear all the crap out of the way so…………just keepin it real. 😉

I had seen these Monogrammed Hand Sanitizers at The Idea Room last year sometime but the idea of trecking to Staples to get copies made on transparency was not appealing to me with a 4 year old and an infant in tow. I need simple and easy these days . So, I decided to break out my Silhouette and improvise a bit.

I started with 3 large hand sanitizers that I got from Dollar Tree and removed the labels (front and back) with Goof Off. I found Goof Off worked best for me by wiping it off with a dry paper towel. Then I cut out #1 Teacher and #1 Nurse with my Silhouette. I decided to give our school nurse a gift because, oh I don’t know, maybe because my oldest would visit her about 10 TIMES A WEEK!!! lol Hypochondriac at it’s finest. lol

{The font for the #1 for teacher is VARSITY. The font for #1 and the words teacher and nurse is PUPCAT. }
Next I applied the vinyl lettering using transfer tape (vinyl and transfer tape purchased from Expressions Vinyl) and it worked perfectly.
I thought that was a little plain so I added a few little vinyl embellishments on the front and back. I don’t have a huge supply of vinyl colors so I just went with light pink and light blue. This would go great as a baby shower wishing well gift with those colors, don’t ya think?

I added a little bit of ribbon and jute to dress it up a bit and there you go. Here’s a photo of the back:
